EUHA Comes to Paris: Members’ Assembly and Events, 4–6 November

Published on 13 October 2026 • By Martina Garriga (EUHA)

The EUHA Members’ Assembly, scheduled for 6 November in Paris, will be hosted by Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris and will bring together representatives from all EUHA members, eleven of Europe’s leading university hospitals. During the meeting, EUHA representatives will discuss EUHA’s ongoing projects, review the progress of EUHA working groups and networks, prioritise activities and discuss EUHA’s strategy and agenda.

Twice a year, representatives from each EUHA member organisation, including their CEOs and members of the EUHA Steering Committee, come together at the Members’ Assembly to shape the alliance’s agenda and priorities. The CEOs play a key role in setting direction for the Steering Committee, networks, and working groups. This year’s November assembly will be held on Friday, 6 November, in Paris, and will be chaired by Étienne Gayat, Deputy Director of Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris and current EUHA President.

In addition, from 4 to 6 November, several EUHA networks and working groups will convene to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration. As part of the programme, Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris will also host two events: the EUHA Members’ Assembly Symposium “Crisis Preparedness” and the “Open Innovation” Event.

The Programme

4 November

“Open Innovation” Event

A dedicated session on open innovation in university hospitals, hosted at AP-HP’s flagship open-innovation site, Hôtel-Dieu. The session will bring together experts from across the EUHA membership to showcase how innovation ecosystems operate in different EUHA settings and share relevant examples of collaboration between university hospitals, start-ups and other innovation partners.

EUHA Members’ Assembly Symposium “Crisis Preparedness”

Crisis preparedness is becoming increasingly critical for university hospitals, where complex infrastructure, research, education, and highly specialised care must continue under challenging circumstances. A special event will bring together key perspectives on hospital infrastructure under threat, cybersecurity, climate-related risks, as well as the workforce and human factors in crisis response. For university hospitals, strengthening resilience means not only preparing systems and infrastructure, but also ensuring that people, knowledge and critical services can adapt and respond effectively when crises occur.

4–6 November

Focusing on Our Unique Impact: EUHA Working Groups and Networks

EUHA brings together experts from across university hospitals to collaborate on projects that drive real-world innovation, improve patient care and help shape the future of healthcare. This collaborative spirit will be on full display during our November events at Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), where several EUHA Working Groups and Networks will meet.

From 4–6 November, members will come together for a full programme of meetings, discussions and knowledge exchange. The Nursing Network will meet alongside the MDR/IVDR Network, Innovation Network, Midwifery Network and HR Directors Network, providing an opportunity for experts to share experiences, explore common challenges and identify areas for collaboration across European university hospitals.

6 November

EUHA Members’ Assembly and EUHA Presidency

The November Members’ Assembly will conclude with the ceremonial handover of the EUHA Presidency, as Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris passes the role to Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin will serve as EUHA President until the next Members’ Assembly in May 2027.

Looking Ahead

2027 will also mark EUHA’s 10th anniversary, an important milestone for the Alliance as it enters its second decade. It will be an opportunity to reflect on what EUHA has achieved so far and look ahead to the next chapter of collaboration among Europe’s leading university hospitals.
