Dipl Ing Herwig Wetzlinger, CEO of the University Hospital Vienna and the current president of EUHA, talks about the prospects and challenges facing EUHA and summarises his term as president, which will end at the upcoming Members’ Assembly on November 28th in Vienna. After the Members’ Assembly, the EUHA Presidency will hand over to King’s Health Partners.
Colleagues from the Learning In Value (LIVE) Working Group and the Digital Health and Data Network (DHDN) met in Vienna to work out important details of their joint project to benchmark breast cancer care.
EUHA’s Steering Committee members and Secretariat met at the Universitätsklinikum AKH Wien on the 30th of September. During the meeting, participants reviewed the implementation of EUHA’s strategic plan and a new communication strategy and discussed how university hospitals are addressing workforce pressures.
EUHA was presented by Emeritus Professor Jan Hazelzet (former LIVE WG coordinator) as an example of how university hospitals from different European countries learn from each other to implement outcomes-based care. In addition, Dr Linetta Koppert, breast cancer surgeon (member of the LIVE WG, Erasmus MC) showcased EUHA’s international role in driving initiatives toward outcome-based care.
