On October 24-25, the Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus will host the first edition of the International Congress on Health Communication. Supported by EUHA, this landmark event will bring together over 300 communication professionals from health and research institutions, leading experts in health communication, and specialised journalists from around the world. Together, we’ll explore and debate the most pressing current and future challenges in the field.
The first edition of the congress, which will gather over 300 participants, will address key topics, including healthcare policy communication, the relationship between healthcare institutions and media professionals, the creation of new stories and narratives, combating fake news, the role of Artificial Intelligence in communication strategies, managing communication crises, and the involvement of patients in content dissemination.
EUHA is proud to be a part of this congress, with several of our colleagues—Directors of Communication and Communication Advisors from member hospitals—taking on active roles as moderators for various panels and sessions. By supporting this event, EUHA is furthering its commitment to equipping hospitals with effective communication strategies that promote healthy lifestyles, enhance patient safety and trust, and effectively manage communication during emergencies. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to the continuous improvement of hospital operations and services.
Additionally, on the day before the event, EUHA communication colleagues will have the opportunity to meet in person for the first time, making this a truly special occasion. With the recent release of the EUHA Position Paper and Declaration on “Rethinking Healthcare Systems,” it is evident that EUHA aims to represent academic health within the European landscape and is increasingly recognized as a key player in the EU arena. This meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss strategies for leveraging EUHA communications to advance our mission of shaping the future of healthcare.
