Karolinska University Hospital together with EUHA is excited to announce a symposium titled ‘Rethinking Healthcare Systems’, scheduled for Thursday, June 13th, at Karolinska University Hospital. The discussions will revolve around critical challenges in Europe, including workforce shortages, an ageing population, the high costs of advanced treatments, and how these challenges necessitate an EU-wide collaborative approach.
Rethinking Healthcare Systems Initiative
After several workshops and events in 2023, EUHA adopted as a strategic priority to develop innovative solutions for clinical care and upskill the healthcare workforce to support the development, resilience, and sustainability of European healthcare systems. Accordingly, EUHA started the Rethinking Healthcare Systems Initiative, to inform and convince the public, healthcare workforce and relevant authorities that a master plan for future-proof healthcare is urgently needed.
As part of the initiative, EUHA has set up a series of events and activities that aim to increase the priority status of an EU-wide master plan to implement a set of comprehensive measures and actions for sustainable and resilient healthcare systems in Europe.

Keynote Speakers
This gathering will feature a warm welcome from Patrik Rossi, President of EUHA and acting CEO of Karolinska University Hospital. The event will kick off with an introductory speech by Aida Hadžialić, the Metropolitan Mayor of Stockholm.
